Thank you for voting me Bird Of The Day !
Hyacinth here! Thank you so very much for helping me win my first Bird Of The Day badge! It is now shining proudly in my Awards Box. ♥ Spirit Cloude and Royal told me all about how helpful the Birdchannel community can be but now I am able to experience it first hand :) And what a joy it is to be in such a wonderful family of birds and their owners!

Royal asked me to please apologize for all of us in the Le Fleur flock.. we have been so in active lately! Mom said that my winning of BOTD would be a good day to start off with us becoming more active once again. So now for a Le Fleur Flock update!

It has been pretty chilly here lately. In the mornings it can be anywhere from 25°F - 35°.. if you ask me I would prefer 35 but that's still chilly! I think that Spirit Cloude told some of you already but we got lots of snow the day before Thanksgiving. It was the girls and I's second time experiencing snow, but our reaction was no different! On Wednesday (when it was snowing pretty hard) Mom didn't even let us out of our chicken house because she didn't shovel it out, since it was snowing so heavily her work would soon be covered by more snow! Then on Thanksgiving it was bright and sunny .. we were allowed out of the house but we stayed in most of the day!

Also, I don't know if you know this but most hens start laying their eggs when they are about 4-6 months old (depending on the breed). Well we were hatched around June 20th so that would make us almost six months old, but as far as Mom knows none of us girls have even been in our new nesting box (a cardboard box hehe) let alone laid an egg! But Mom is hoping that we'll lay soon.. however we may not lay until next spring because most hens take a winter break from laying eggs (due to not very much sunlight), so we may not even start this year!

Well I assume I am boring you with chicken talk! So I'm leaving a vote for you now.. I hope that you have a fantabulous day :) Thank you again for my BOTD badge!

With Love ♥ Queen Hyacinth
♥ and Violet, Rose, Daisy & Royal

P.S. No, I don't live in the house. I live in a little coop outside with my flock, but I do get visits from my mom when she comes to feed and water us!
