Hi Nippy
The baby is doing great. It's getting HUGE and its eyes are starting to open! The last two eggs didn't hatch. We think the humidity was too low and the inner membranes stuck to the chicks, preventing them from being able to turn in the shell and hatch. Both eggs were pipped which meant the babies made it right up to the point of trying to hatch. It's very sad but unfortunately it happens, especially this time of year.

Our friend the breeder brought over a little baby that needed a mama. Its daddy was mean to it and its clutchmates, so the breeder pulled them from the nest for their own protection. The older ones are old enough to be handfed but the youngest isn't, so Annie is raising it along with my chick. It's nice that my baby will grow up with a fib in the nest.

Your friend,
Butterball
