Wow! BOTD! I wasn’t expecting that. Thanks for all the prayers and heartfelt sympathy from you guys. I am doing a little better every day and eating a little more. Mommy is still feeding me with a syringe but now I just lick the end of the syringe while she squirts it out. That is much better than when she stuck it down my throat. I tried to eat some apple and soft corn but I couldn’t pick it up. I am a tough bird and will keep trying. My beak might be gone but my spirit is strong. I am getting plenty of momma time right now in my little plastic box which has become my new temporary home. I go everywhere with her. She gets upset when people make ugly comments but we all know I am still as beautiful as ever! The vet said after my beakie heals up I will be able to compensate for my lost part and hopefully I won’t have to be on mushy foods forever. I am taking my medicines like a trooper too. Momma has been research reconstructive surgery and prosthetics just in case. Rio didn’t mean to hurt me. So don’t be mad at him. He climbed on my cage while mommy was at work. I don’t like other birdies touching my stuff so I like to bite toes. Rio is already missing a few (from his last owner) and took revenge on my beak. Momma is good about keeping an eye on us birdies and she feels really bad about all of this. Last year they even put up a birdie cam in our bird room to watch us during the day. Unfortunately accidents happen though. I didn’t realize so many other birdies had missing beaks too. Now I don’t feel so bad and mommy sure can use some hope right now. I sure hope at least some of my beak grows back. You all really made me feel like a queen today! Thanks so much for everything!
