|BLog RQ- your friend wants blue crown
Hello, you asked on my bird blog about what to tell your friend who wants a blue crown.
We are lucky to have 2 blue crowns, both with distinctly different personalities.
one, ED , is the cuddler in your hand and hes a raucous playtime birdie as well.
Chuckles, shes the dainty princess who tangles in toys, but wouldn't be caught dead actually enjoying one, its not ladylike.
they are both VERY fun birds.
Blue crowns can learn to talk. They sound like a macaw on helium, and tend to be very gregarious and loyal.
Please remember that they ARE aratinga conures, so they are very vocal.
They have a signature point on their beaks that alot of people choose to keep trimmed, but its a natural part of their physical nature, so we choose to let it grow.
if this friend has a bird already, and knows the work involved, the Blue crown is an awesome choice. they are very nippy, like all conures,in their terrible 2's but if your patient, loving, and consistent in your behavior with them, it will let up if not disappear altogether.
they are a good choice. they can live up to 35 years in captivity so its a lifetime commitment (one that i highly reccommend)
