Hi Sky
the rest of Brenna's story never came out so I will try and write the rest of it for you!
to be a girl, which she was. The ointment cleared up her bloody gouges and then Brenna had to endure some hormone shots for three months to see if that would help stop the feather picking. It was the end of the Summer when Mom brought Brenna home and so she started getting her outside in the warm air and sunshine and spritzing her bruised and battered body! Brenna loved it and loved watching the world around her, the wild birds, people going by the house. Mom even took her for a ride in the stroller and she loved riding on the handle and looking at the world for real, she was always quiet, never said a word. Brenna was a great eater! She loved the warm bean mix Mom made for her in the mornings and she ate any kind of pellets that Mom put in her dish and everybird in the house just loved her! Brenna would preen any bird who wanted a preening and she just loved to snuggle with Kallie as Kallie was more her size. She loved being on the playgym and looking out the bird room windows and the music Mom played all day long! Mom gave her toys to play with and taught her how to use them as she had no idea being shoved under a counter in a dark back room. When the family went on vacation we finally heard Brenna squawk in delight when Nana's Nanday Marty came to stay at our house (all Nana's birds came to stay with us as the fidsitter could take care of all of us in one place). Brenna spent the weeks vacation in a cage with Marty and if ever you saw a bird smile in delight it was Brenna! She just got along with everyone and everybird! Brenna was doing great as the years went by and Mom and Nana kept her in sweaters and t-shirts and she was even an exibit for skinbros invention class in fifth grade! She stood on her travel perch sporting her new sweater that Nana made and she won skin bro an award! She just looked at all the kids and their parronts coming to see her! I think she was really enjoying all the attention! Brenna, like all of us fids, never stayed in the cage all day,we were out as long as Mom was home, free to fly in our room(with the door closed)to sit on our window swing, play on the playgym anything we wanted to do as long as it was deemed safe to do so! Mom always checking us every ten minutes or so!
Then one cold fall day in October after starting up her mutilations again the month before, Brenna had made a deep gouge under her wing again and opened up an old wound there and started bleeding profusely again. Mom did all she could do, an elizabethan collar was put on Brenna but she just chewed right through that. She even chewed right through her sweaters and t shirts. Mom tried everything to get her to stop but to no avail. This night in October, Mom wrapped Brenna up in a warm towel with a heating pad underneath her cage floor and played soft music for her. Mom had just gone out of the room to get Brenna a warm compress for her gouges and whe
