Hey Rocky
It was good to see you at the derby, hope you escaped the track in time! Well, mom is finally back from Michigan. She was busy there the whole time. Aunt Jane sure knows how to entertain. After the tulip stem festival (tulips were already done blooming) in Holland, the 3 travelers went to see Aunt Jane farther north. While with her, mom saw the Cross in the Woods, the lake and casino by Petoskey, Mackinaw Island, mushroom houses, a music museum, some art galleries, Sault Ste. Marie, the Soo canals and locks, Whitefish Point, Tegamenon (SP?) Falls, Leelanau peninsula, including a place called Fishtown, an old fishing village, and some wineries, and the Morel Mushroom festival and craft show in Boyne city. They were busy busy busy. Thanks to Aunt Jane and Uncle Bill for keeping mom entertained and fed, though!
Today mom was back at the center, where 762 animals have been admitted this year. At the same time last year, there had been 382 animals by this time. The center is on track to admit well over 3000 animals this year! Mom was busy with all the baby birds this morning, so the rest of the day is ours alone! See you tomorrow I hope, Willie |
