Hello Chirps! xoxoxo Mom has been doing things nearly all day today, so it has taken her till mid afternoon to have blogging time. This morning, she headed out shopping which included a visit to PetCo! I needed more seed, treat bars, millet spray and sandpaper covers for my perches, all of which she got today. After Mom got home and ate lunch, it was play time for me! Mom let me out in the bathroom as usual, and gave me a small plate filled with shredded carrots. Yum! While I ate to my hearts content, Mom put the sandpaper covers on all of my perches. Mom's read about sandpaper covers irritating some parrots' feet, but I've used them to keep my toenails in check for nearly my entire life so we know that it doesn't bug me at all. While Mom was at PetCo, she couldn't help not peeking in at the cockatiels... every time she sees a tiel, she wants one even more than she did before! If that's possible! LOL! At PetCo, tiels are $100, though Mom has read online that most tiels cost more like $60, and sometimes even less at breeders. Maybe because there's no middle man at a breeders'? Hm. After I had play time, Mom went out and put some stuff in the garden. Tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and corn. I like corn all right, but what I'm really looking forward to is STRAWBERRY season!! I LOVE strawberries. Possibly just as much as I love carrots, believe it or not! So I'm very anxious for that! Last Tuesday, Mom took my cage apart and scrubbed the bottom grate and tray clean, which hadn't been done in a very long time. Tomorrow, she's going to clean the mid section of my cage. I don't know if most cages are like this, but with mine, the top can come off, and so can the "mid section", which leaves you with the bottom. On the bottom part, you can take out the tray and the grate. So Mom's working her way up, cleaning a new piece each Tuesday. Next week, she'll clean the top part. She's doing it all in stages so that I don't get too stressed out, cuz I don't like having my cage messed with too much! Well I sure hope that you're having a good day! I know I am. Not only have I been loving the millet spray that I got today, I've also been eating my treat bar like crazy! Mom put a fresh one in last Tuesday, and it's already almost gone. That's why she had to get more today! I'm one hungry budgie! xo ♥ |
