Greetings, Chirpy!
This is the TC Flock, flying by to let you all know how North Florida is doing after the flood. Here in Branford things are not too bad. But, the roads are washed out all around us and we can not travel to any other towns. We are stuck here, but that is better than others on the other side of the wash out. Up in Live Oak, sink holes are opening up all over...even under the courthouse. They are having to move all the files and records over to the Library. All the main roads going to and from Live Oak are under water, or closed by sink holes caving in. Florida is a floating island, floating over a huge underground lake that they call the aquafer. When we get heavy rains after a dry spell, the top of the ground caves into this underground lake, forming giant sink holes that swallow up houses, cars and buildings. Sinkhole insurance cosst more than flood insurance down here. We have 4 big sink holes on our own property, but so far so good....no new ones have formed and the old ones are holding up OK. We have had to fill them in many times before in the past years. So, keep your wings crossed for us. The sun came out today, but Tomorrow, we may be looking up from the bottom of one of these horrid pits. The waters are not supposed to go back down till Sunday.
You know how some ladies keep moving the furniture around when they get borded???? Well, we are stranded here and can't get out and about, so we tore up the giftg shop again! But we promise, this is the last time! If all you birdies don't do more shopping than in the past, we will close it down for good. It takes up too much space both on BC and on our PC if you all don't need such services. We are now emphasizing photo gifts to spark your interest...since Cupid and Daisy love to work in the photo lab. BB2 and SB have spent days ordering new photo gifts. Today we have opened a new section of photo jewelry which you can personalize with custom engravings, quotes and photos. There are items for memorials, weddings, birthdays, and holidays.This time they found lots of items for the boys...such as male necklaces, wallets and money clips. If you can't find exactly what you have in mind, just tweet us and we will order it for you. Photo art is our passion, so keep those orders coming. MaMa-JOY sure gets cranky when she gets bored and has nothing to do. That is when she yells at us and calls SB an "SB"!!!! So, please visit our new gift shop departments and send us some orders!
