ZZZZZ ZZZZZ ZZZZZZ...Wha??? Oye!
Ye comes again to get yer fill of piratin'? They say history repeats itself. Maybe yer hopin' to get to do some repeatin'? Then lend me yer ear, nave, before's I cuts it off fer ye!

I am about to tell you about the most powerful, the best sailing geniuses, the most lucrative pirates that ever touched their toe to the oceans' water. They not only were skilled & vicious in their exploits but did it hands down better than any governmental navy on the high seas any where in the world!! They took on the best and bettered the best the world sent out against them. They stayed in power for 3 centuries! That be 300 years to a scraggled varmint like you! Nary any emperors, kings, generals, admirals could bring them down! They were called the Wokou. Even though they started out being based in Japan, they weren't Japanese at all. But Chinese that used it to hide as their raids began to grow and extend further south & north. These were Cantonese & Hokkien who were abandoned when the Mongols were betrayed by their Javanese so called allies & the Mongols hurriedly picked up & split! They left many men marooned all along their previous conquest routes. Some of these men found each other & set up fortresses along river estuaries mainly for protection. They had the good sense to hire the locals to build these fortresses & to become their foot soldiers. They survived in these hostile areas by utilizing their well trained pugilists as well as their marine & navigational skills. For ye whiny types, pugilists means ye hand to hand, fist to fist skills. Ask Mr. Kiddo and Director Popeye if these have helped them!?! There were so many that they dotted the lands but concentrated closer to the Sumatran & Javanese estuaries. Their strength & ferocity grew along side the silk & spice trade as it picked up.with the world's demand.

They preferred the junk ships which had more of a robust sail layout. They were quick ships and with speed, experience, and discipline from their military & naval days, the merchant fleets that came along their paths did not fare well. I will leave ye with this to chew on fer yer day. These master criminals were about to introduce a type of thievery the likes that had not been seen before in the world. At least, not by pirates. Now, press me vote button and let's continue our poker game! Arrrrr....do ye have any Jack's??
