As they sailed & terrorized fishermen & the coastal towns & villages of Jamaica, word was sent to the governor at that time that Calico Jack Rackham was again pillaging the good folk of Jamaica. They knew well his distinct Jolly Roger he designed himself as the skull with two crossed swords. Governor Nicholas Lawes thus sent the renowned pirate hunter, Captain Jonathan Barnett to pursue & bring to justice Captain Calico Jack Rackham & all his crew.

It wasn't long before Captain Barnett caught up to a drunkened crew sleeping & anchored in the bay of Pointe Negril, Jamaica in October of 1720. They were all apprehended & taken back to Spanish Town, Jamaica where they were tried & all found guilty of piracy. Captain Calico Jack Rackham was made to watch each of his crewmen hanged by the neck. Except for two. Anne Bonny & Mary Read revealed their true identifty & claimed to be pregnant, avoiding the hangman's noose. Just before Calico Jack was taken for execution, they allowed him one last visit with his true love, Anne Bonny. Upon seeing Jack Rackham the only words that were said to him hung in the air like icicles, "I'm sorry to see you here, but had you fought like a man, you needn't hang like a dog." Captain Jack Rackham was taken to be executed in Port Royal, Jamaica, where he was to be hanged on November 18, 1720. But that t'weren't the end of ole' Jack. Narrrr....they gibbeted his body in a tight cage where he was to rot fer evermore, hanging at the entrance to Port Royal & warning others who would be thinkin' of pirating ways as a easy way of life.

There is the sad tale of Calico Jack Rackham. Some lessons to be learned from him, that's for sure! Thank ye fer smite'n the vote button of this scraggled varmint! How about a game of rummy?
Narrrrr...not with them cards! With this hootch!
