Hi Sam!
Yes, mom works with a lot of vets in and out of the area. She doesn't know of anybirdy in PA, but Dr Linda Grau at the Fredon Animal Hospital, 391 Route 94, Fredon, NJ 08760 at 973-383-0811 is our doc and the dog's doc also. Mom wants somebirdy close by our house (only 15 minutes away, remember we are in the boonies out here) just in case of an emergency as you are thinking. Dr Linda is not avian certified (mom went to one of those and was not impressed, but she can't say anything because of professional relations) but Dr Linda triages and stabilizes injured raptors/birds of prey for Giselle Smisko's raptor rehabilitation center in Wantage, NJ. Mom says if Dr Linda can handle those big birdies, she can handle any of us! Doo the Too had been treated by Dr Linda before he came to our flock. He had broken his leg in his former mamma's power wheel chair. Dr Linda fixed his leg and he has a steel rod in it now. He's as good as gold. WHen mom noticed a growth on Doo's footie she took him to Dr Linda (who shook her head and said "I don't know Mr Doo, we did not have a good meeting the last time with your leg" but Doo was calm and not in shock or pain and behaved like a gentleman. Dr Linda couldn't believe he was the same Too! So she's gentle, caring and very conservative. ANd, she treats those nasty chihuahuas of dad's! Feel free to email mom at jtanyastark@gmail.com (mom is Tanya) and if you are ever out our way, give a brack and stop on by to visit us! Love and winghugs and a vote! Moggie
