Hi Doo, first, I have to make it to the castle first and if I do then I will get back to you on the dates...I think the school will be a good thing. Mom made my chef's hat for me, I was thinking that all the birdies who attend my cooking school will get one of their own...what do you think about that idea? Thanks every birdie for your support and votes, I could not do this without you, nor would I want to… Parrot Candy ½ lb dates 2 cups chopped walnuts (no salt) ½ lb dried apricots ½ cup cranberry and raisin mix ½ lb dried figs 1 tsp sesame seeds or hulled buckwheat ½ lb mixed dried fruit Put dates, figs, walnuts, apricots, mixed dried fruit, raisins, and cranberries through a food grinder. Grind and scoop out and shape into small balls. Roll in seeds, buckwheat, or finely chopped nuts. Refrigerate portions until ready to feed. Optional: Try mixed nuts or pistachio nuts instead of walnuts I prefer to purchase my dried fruit and nuts from my local heath food store as they have nuts without salt and the dried fruit has no sulphur dioxide… This recipe is very tasty but messy to make. My apologies to the La Habra Flock, the previous recipe Oatmeal Raisin Cookies was not provided by them. Mom is tired so she is not thinking so straight…lol Bon Appetite, Wing hugs and love, Chef Taz |
