rainy day My wife is busy sweeping and cleaning around the cages and I get to have some time off before heading out to an Agility Trial with Babette, our Pembroke Welsh Corgi. (actually we have two, but Theadora is not ready for competition quite yet). It has been pouring rain all morning and in spite of the rain, I potted up six giant amayrillis for Christmas gifts. Potting them up now should get them ready in time. At least I get the green growth going before I hand them over. I've simplified bird care arrangments for when we need to go away. For a long week-end the finches can get by with full seed cups so they only need their water tubes checked. So they skip their usual breakfast of sprouts, broccoli, carrots and sugar snap peas. The hookbills (Tessa, Zena, Zachary, Zelda and Zorro) get birdie bread but I have the caretakers skip the veggies and I just make sure their seed cups are filled as well. This works out quite well even over our Thanksgiving travels where we are away for 4 days. Of course, they really dive into those veggies when we get back! Btw, Zelda and Zorro don't have a page here. Maybe I'll set one up over the Winter. They are blue colored parrotlets and a bonded pair so they live in one cage. Well, hope all is well with you and everybirdie. Here's a vote for you. Time for me to get on the road. |
