Hello Quebec flock
NOVEMBER 7th
Hello every birdie, SKY here with a special weekly report " SPOTLIGHT on CARING"
These weekly blogs will highlight the many BC persons who are making a difference for us birdies.
I trust you shall enjoy these one on one interviews. If you know a BCer who is helping out, let me know please, so we can feature them in weeks to come. These blogs shall continue AFTER the BOTM run from my Broken Wings page.
Today's feature Bird is our own Miss Sugar-145943 & her Mom Eileen.
SKY-" What Rescue are you involved with?"
Sugar- " The IOWA PARROT RESCUE run by Mike & Abi Hutchison"
SKY-" how long have you been involved with them?"
Sugar-" I've been donating for nearly 2 years"
Sky-" how did you learn about them and what impressed you the most?"
Sugar-" I hear of them through Jenny-Lynn's Dad Chuck, and her aunt Denise. What I was impressed with is how well Mike runs the rescue. It's all about the birds. He runs a tight ship, I am amazed what he can do on a limited budget. They are also the only inspected and licensed rescue in Iowa."
SKY-" what is the one most important thing you would say about the IPR?'
Sugar-" Mike makes sure that the bird and the new parronts are compatible. Mike is very upfront about the birds temperment. Some birds can't be handled and he makes sure anyone who adopts them understand that."
SKY-" Anything you'd like to tell us about abused birds in general?"
Sugar-" After Mom Eileeen and I joined BC, I read about a bird named Braveheart who whose evil owners burned his feet off. It's been 3 years since I read that, and to this day it brings tears to my eyes to think about the pain & suffering this bird went through.I found out that he had passed away in 2008. He knew love there and I know his story has touched many lives. I try to forgive because that is what God expects of us, but when I read stories like Braveheart's and yours, it makes it very hard to be forgiving."
Sky-" Thank you Sugar & Mom Eileen for sharing with us. Tomorrow we will visit the Iowa Parrot rescue with a personal phone interview I had with Mike."
