hi chyna
see the way your mom was introduced to nature is the way it should be. mom cdoesnt believe in this new technique to get children interested in nature by dressing up as a bug and playing interactive games with them. there if is so much wonder in nature you dont need all that. mom remembers when she was a kid then had very few tv shows for kids and even with the few programs they had her mom would always make her go outside and play and mom remembers spending hours just watching ants especially if you picked up a big rock and you would get to see all the ant eggs and all the ants would scurry to take the eggs down their tunnels and then of course as a child you would poke a stick down the ant hole to see what the ants would do. mom once fed the ants sugar that she found and they all died because the sugar became moldy. i dont know mom always finds something of interest to watch and observe outside even on the coldest and most dismal of days there is always something going on. today if kids arent being entertained 24/7 they whine and complain. our g-dad knew more about nature than anyone mom has ever met or read. mom just hated the fact that he also liked to hunt. yet he was compassionate and loved animals. mom doesnt know if he hunted because he was raised that way or what. towards the end of his life he no longer had any interest in hunting and was content to watch and observe nature. love cori and boo boo
