Hi, Peepers,
Oh, we wondered when Trixie II would be starting her training. Do you think her watching Dixie and Kallie doing their tricks would give her the idea that it's a fun thing and nothing that will hurt her?

Giving out info about birds while doing the show is the perfect opportunity especially with kids. Positive reenforcement and patience probably cannot be stressed enough and knowing when a fid is tired or not in the mood is good to know as well. No pet should be tossed aside because of lack of interest or difficulty. Some people need as much training as their pets it seems.

Mom is used to working on Black Friday. Everyone knows they must be available to work on that day or the w/e days following. She's done the starting at 3 or 4am, but a couple of years ago many stores started the midnight opening. Who would've thought there'd be a line of people wanting to shop at midnight? That was so popular last year the store did the Thanksgiving night opening, again, quite popular and the store reached capacity so they had to make people wait outside in the cold until those inside left. Where mom works the shoppers are really polite and no pushing/shoving is done. If there's a hot item with limited supply the store prints up paper tickets and passes those out from the beginning of the line. They are guaranteed that item if they pay by a certain time.

Our mom gave socks one year too. She found those with the grippy soles and also ones with the individual toes for the younger girls, so fun. Another thing she did was fill a gift bag with food goodies and lil games/puzzles for everyone to share. She'd put lil calendars, notepads, smoked sausage, nuts, soup mixes, fancy jams, whatever she thought each individual family would enjoy. If there's a pet in the family include something for that critter as well. One year mom knit a washcloth for each family member. She'd get many items at the dollar section of the craft store. Really kept the costs reasonable and it was fun to fill the bags up and labeling 'em for each family.

Have a great day, wing hugs and a vote, Pearl and Silver.
