Hi, Peepers,
Apparently many people like to shop those hours. It is difficult to swap sleeping patterns when one usually works the early morning shift to have to do the nighttime to early am, but it's only for a couple of days. Mom has to work 2 nights to early am shifts and then back to her morning to early afternoons again. The managers will be there for 10-12 hours each. All other employees are only allowed the 8, no overtime since we should have enough seasonal workers.
What's fun to put in the gift bags for the family is small puzzle/activity books, small jigsaw puzzles, things to do on the holiday with the family. One year mom found those wooden skeleton puzzles for a dollar each and some were animals and some were vehicles and other things. She found it was fun to shop looking for these things.
Wow, your flock's been on BC for 6 years? Didn't realize it'd been around that long. We recently reached our two years, but knew that others have been here at least 4. Happy Anniversary! We too are quite happy to have finally joined BC and met so many wonderful birds and parronts. Even though we've never met any in birdson it's almost like we have. Keep up the good work with the shows in educating others about proper bird care.
Our mom will be spending Tue/Wed prepping for her Thanksgiving lunch at her sister's. She needs to make a pumpkin pie and a couple of side dishes. The gparronts prefer the lunchtime meal anyway so they aren't driving at night and mom dislikes driving at night too.
