Hope you had a great week! Yes, I have eggs again, 4 of them. My last clutch was born over 6 months ago so I'm ready for another. Butterball has eggs, too, so I may end up with a couple of those as well. I'm doing great this time. Valentine is helping me and he's all excited about being allowed to sit on the eggs and is looking forward to raising babies. In the past he's always been very curious about my nests and would try to get in them to look at the eggs/babies, but of course I wouldn't let him. Now that he's allowed he takes it very seriously and couldn't be a more diligent papa.
The Cuddler has been sick with the worst cold ever. She came down with it the day after the election, and just can't shake it. She says she can't wait to be able to breathe through her nose again. The Bird Whisperer was sick, too, but she got over it in a few days. The Feeder pulled a muscle in his leg around the same time they got sick and he's still limping around, and finally went to the doctor yesterday and got some pain medicine. What a sickly bunch of humans I have!
The new fellow, Tweet, is slowly settling in. He wants to be the center of attention all the time, which is very annoying to me since I am supposed to be the center of attention! Except when I want to do a little unauthorized chewing, in which case I try very hard NOT to draw attention.
School is a major issue at our house. The week in Florida set everybody behind, and the Feeder was behind already. They are going to have to work during the Thanksgiving break and well into the Christmas break to catch up. They are doing well on the work, they're just behind their classmates which is very frustrating for them and Cuddler.
How has your weather been? Ours keeps changing - cold and dreary one day, bright and sunshiney the next. That's probably why the Cuddler can't shake her cold.
How is Dixie's leg? I sure hope it's all better now.
What are your Thanksgiving plans? Mine involve NOT being on the serving platter. The humans are going away so I will spend the day quietly on my eggs. I hope they bring me home leftovers because I love everything about Thanksgiving dinner, and usually they let me try a little bit of everything!
Sure hope you have a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving!
