hi samiam
first off i want to say your playing skills in the turkey bowl were quite impressive yesterday and once again you outdid yourself with the delightful music at the milonga. i also wanted to tell your mom about the kitty. mom has been having a heck of a time getting the kitty to eat after it initally gorged itself before we brought into the garage. it was eating a little of the whiskas and royal canin hard but not much and hadnt drank any water for over 24 hours. it is so thin you cant even test the skin to see how dehydrated she is. so mom went to the vet who told mom what she already knew but paid $100 just to hear from a vet. the cat is in such bad condition it may or may not make it. the vet would not do any testing saying the cat would die but did give the cat flea and tick meds because the cat is very infested. mom gave the kitty "now named maggie" turkey with broth baby food which is very pasty and the cat liked it and ate some but wont eat unless mom holds the dish up to her face. . maggie weighs 4lbs and probably should weigh 15 . she looks like the poster kitty for animal abuse. since maggie refused to drink anything mom poured pedialite into the turkey and broth baby food and made it very soupy then added some royal canin hard kibbles. the cat really drank then. mom knows she is dehydrated because her eyes are sunken in and is hoping the pedialyte will perk her up some. after the royal canin softened up some maggie also ate a few bites of them. the vet told mom to try and get some weight on her and keep her isolated from the doggie and older rescue kitty already in the house for about 2 weeks and if maggie has put on weight and is improving the vet will then give her de-worming and distemper shots and whatever else the porr cat will need. mom wanted tlo give maggie a bath and the vet said absolutely not. what initially looked like a jagged scar running down maggies back has turned out to be her spinal cord protruding. the vet also said that considering the shape maggie is in she is holding her own and is probably about 8 years old and has no microchip. she assumes maggie was spayed since she is already declawed. anyway m mom is getting no blogging done since she runs down to the garage about every 1/2 hour to check on maggie. if your mom can think of anything else she can let my mom know. mom was thinking of buying some kitten formula and mixing that with the food also for extra vitamins. meanwhile boo boo and i are just getting the bare basics in care. love cori
