Hi Zippy
What a cute pic! Thanks for your vote, and here's one for you, too. Today we will talk a little about what happens in Paleolab. As I said yesterday, it's a work space that's open to public view, where the guys do several things: They open jackets, like the one in the first pic; they glue broken fossils, like the second pic, and they make casts of our collection for other museums (third pic). Some of their other work includes preparing fossils for other museums and sculpting or casting missing parts for our dinos. In the first pic there is an amphibian fossil, so we don't just do dinosaurs in paleolab. The second pic shows some repair work on a titanosaur fossil which they've been working on since summer, and the third pic focuses on the corythysaurus heads which they've made to ship out to other museums. One of the other neat things they do there is sift through the rocks and other debris that some of our scientists have collected in search of microscopic sized fossils, which they find quite often. In the Mesozoic (the age of dinosaurs), the microfossils are often mammal jaws, teeth, vertebrae, etc. which help the curators to see what other animals lived with the dinosaurs. We'll be going in to the hall tomorrow, to see Dinosaurs in Their Time. Hugs to all, Gizmo
