|Hi Cydney and flock
WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 5th POST
Spotlight on Caring
Welcome to this weeks SPOTLIGHT ON CARING. Today we visit with one of our well known BC flocks. The Habra Flock. Most of us will be familiar with some or all of these wonderful birdies.
Today we are interviewing POPEYE and her dad John.
SKY: Popeye, Tell us a little about your flockily, and how you all came to be together?
Popeye: Yes certainly. I am the oldest member of the La Habra flock having been part of this group for over 24 years. I had lived in 3 previous homes. Two owners found me too noisy and the last, had a child and didn't want me. The rest of us arrived under similar circumstances.
Sky; Is there any special member you think we should learn more about?
Popeye: Angel Sunny, a Lutino Indian Ringneck. She was wild and bit when Dad first met her but as soon as she saw Dad John, she was in love and the feeling was mutual. She stepped up for him and no one else, ever before. Angel Sunny choose Dad and they had a special bond.
SKY: how long was Angel Sunny part of your flockily?
Popeye: A little over 19 years. She became ill in May, 3 months after her 19th hatchday and left us for the Rainbow Bridge on September 26th at 1:45am. It was a very difficult time for us all.
Sky: I see that your flockily has several BC business pages. Can you tell us more about them?
POPEYE: Alex, my frother, runs the Pretty Rose Flower Shoppe, with 'U' Ruby and my fister Lucky, a Budgie has the THE PROUD BIRD PIE SHOPPE..
SKY: Who is the newest flock members to join you and why did they end up being rehomed. POPEYE: Rio and Skye, the blue Ringnecked Parakeets where in a small cage in a store that was moving. Several of us came from that store. None of them had names. When Dad saw them he couldn't leave them cramped up like that, being unwanted, unloved and alone.
SKY: It sounds like your flockily is made up of previously unwanted birds that now have become one happy, loved family.
Popeye: we are, and once we arrive here we never again have to be afraid of where we will be moved to next. We have a great, home, where each of us is loved, and well cared for. We may have started off as unwanted, but we will never be that again.
Sky: Thank-you very much Popeye and Dad John for sharing a little bit more about your flockily with us BC birdies. It is so rewarding to hear stories like this one . Where unloved, misunderstood birds end up in a home where they are safe and live happy lives.
with my heart filled with love,
King SKY 224183
