Hi Peatree
Today's blog is kind of brief because mom was out shopping all day and is tired. Remember the other day when I said skulls got damaged easily in the fossilization process? Well, here are some examples: The really white one is coelophysis(Triassic) and it's flat as a pancake. This is a cast based on the real fossil that was removed from part of that bone bed we saw earlier. Obviously the damage that was done was post mortem, and the mud that landed on the little guy smashed his skull flat! The second and third pics are of the real dryosaurus(Jurassic) skull, do you see how it's all mashed to one side, with one eye higher than the other? Well, that also happened in fossilization. The first pic is that of an Edmontosaurus, a huge hadrosaur(Duck billed dino) who lived in the Cretaceous. His skull is also smooshed to one side, so it happened even to the big guys! More tomorrow! Thanks for your vote, here's a big hug from me, Gizmo
