|Hi Pearl and Silver,
that was and is a great idea that your gma had. It is cool that your mom is doing it. Unfortunately, the parronts did't live in this house when it happened...
It didn't seem like the Cardinals even came to play. Mom and dad watched most of the Green Bay game. Did you know that they have warm water lines under the field so that the snow doesn't stick. When they took the tarp off of the field before the game, it was 60º on the field. Too bad that they couldn't warm the air and make the snow stop...it sure snowed pretty hard with really big flakes...
Harley doesn't like a bath either, the parronts take her to be bathed and have her toenails trimmed. It costs the parronts $20 but it is hard for them to do it by themselves right now.
Mom called dad's doctor for an appointment and they got him in right away this morning. He has been feeling off color and complaining of an uncomfortable feeling on his left side around his rib area. Last night after he got out of the tub (yes, he takes a bath), he noticed an ugly red rash around his ribs on his left side. The rash wasn't painful or itchy. The doctor knew immediately what it was...Shingles...The parronts always thought that shingles caused a lot of burning pain but the doctor said that sometimes it doesn't. Dad is uncomfortable so it is good that he is not in a lot of pain. The doctor prescribed an antiviral medication that dad has to take for seven days, he has to take 10 pills a day, he takes two every four hours...the doctor said dad should start feeling better in a couple of days. We all hope so, it has not been the greatest year for him.
Mom got the okay for her to get the treatment recommended to go and see a psychologist but he won't have an opening for at least three to six months. That is crazy to mom but at least she still gets her benefits while she waits. The lawyer thinks that it will work out good cause by that time mom will be able to get on her pension as soon as her treatment is done. She also will be on her Medicare by then so she will have medical coverage even if L&I won't accept her lawyer's recommendation that her pension also provide mom with medical to cover all her medical issues that are related to her industrial injury. That would be great so mom would not have to pay for her medications that are pretty expensive...one is $400 a month and one is $300 a month...rather spendy...
Guess what, the contractor called and they are starting on the floor Wednesday...that way they will be done before Christmas...that is good but mom has a lot of packing to get done in a day. Almost all of her knick knacks are in the living room and of course that is where they are starting...
