Hi Lalo
Okay, before we leave the titans, there is some more info: in the first pic, you can't see the acquisition number, but it reads CM85, and that means it's the 85th item in the Carnegie collection. It's the very top of an apatosaurus thigh or femur, and it's what started Andrew Carnegie on his dino fever! He saw this, and sent scientists out immediately, telling them to get one for Pittsburgh. Another question came up, too. The sauropods in North America are big, no doubt, but they are dwarfed by some of the ones found in Argentina! Argentinosaurus makes our guys look like midgets!
The second pic shows Camptosaurus, a later Jurassic relative of the dryosaurus we saw the other day. Camptosaurus is one of the first iguanodontids, but doesn't have that huge thumb spike that came later. It still has that beak and scissor like teeth, the 5 fingered hand, and the tendons across the spine to hold the tail out straight, though.
One last thing today: Mom realized about 1/3 of the way through our blogs yesterday that she had already told everyone about gigantism, so sorry, I guess she was having a senior (senile) moment.
Thanks, as always, for your support and here's a vote and hug for you today. See you tomorrow! Gizmo
