Annie gives Scion a big hug
What's this about another seizure? How awful! You just snuggle in your down comforter and let me feed you this homemade caique noodle soup - I mean chicken noodle - and hot chamomile tea. Is your foot affected again? Are you feeling like yourself yet? I will be so worried until I learn what happened! Maybe you're allergic to sparkles!

I bet your house looks great! And I sure hope your parronts escaped the stomach virus so far. I heard a cruise ship was stricken with it this week. Did you know it's called the "Norwalk virus" after a town here in northern Ohio? My folks have been to Norwalk many times but thankfully never brought the stomach flu home with them.

The outdoor mass sounds lovely, and it must be very moving to see the Virgin in the little boat and wreaths in the sea. Did your parronts enjoy it? And how was the jaguar fundraiser? They are such beautiful animals and it would be a shame for them to disappear. Have your parronts ever encountered any?

That was wonderful of your "aunt" to send you that spaghetti! That's the great thing about Christmas, there's always plenty of food! We had the soup two nights ago and Kentucky Fried Caique - I mean chicken - for lunch yesterday, and I got some of each. The Edible One even put the bones in the freezer for me to gnaw later.

Speaking of caiques, the Tweetster is doing well. He barfed on the Cuddler yesterday so apparently she has risen in his estimation. He whistles and makes all sorts of noise but seems to have lost interest in us little birds, so we feel a bit safer. We're still not allowed out together though.

My 4 babies are big and tremendously fat! One of them is going to look like me. Butterball and Apollo hatched 5 babies, but so far they've lost 2. They are attentive but inexperienced parronts. Even Butterball is being maternal. It's not unusual for first time parronts to lose some of their clutch. We think the oldest two will make it but we're keeping our wings crossed for the smallest of the three remaining.

The kids got their pictures done (finally!) and the rough proofs turned out great.

I must fly back to my babies, dearest Scion. You sip your tea and rest! I brought you a nice book to read - the collected works of Mark Twain. It's pretty big so of course I don't expect you to read it all, but surely there is something among his works to entertain you while you recuperate.

Annie covers Scion's beaks with kisses... I love you, you sweet handsome bird! Please get better!

PS I LOVE our picture! Don't we look darling in our Santa hats?
