Well, Miss LaLo, I Thought We Were Good Friends
.....I would throw the slatted jingle bell balls for her and she'd bat them around the kitchen floor for hours! I really liked throwing them AT her! Or FOR her depending on your perspective. I'd call for her "kitty kitty CocoPuff" and she'd come running! We had a very good relationship although Mom taught me to "fly high, CATS!" and I'd always fly up to the top of my cage no matter where I was!. Mom can't run as fast as I can fly. So, I didn't get close, but we did share play time together somewhat. When those two other cats were rescued, CocoPuff started to change. They EAT birds outside and even bring Mom one on occasion. But she would scold them and bury the bird. I think those other two have clued CocoPuff, who was the best mouser, into understanding that I should be their food! No good scraggle muffin cats! I try to call them like I did CocoPuff but they ignore me completely. They'll look at me, then look away. Sometimes Mom will catch them watching me from around the island in the kitchen. Mom says they're looking for a way into my cage. Sometimes they'll even cruise around my cage sizing me and my nest up for weaknesses. Mom's told me what they're doing and she'll chase them off. If they stick one paw in or on my cage, they'll have a toe missing for sure! And when I flap my wings, they go scurrying off like their tails were on fire! Mom thinks when they were kittens, they must have had an encounter with an owl or hawk for them to be so scared of the wings flapping. I guess CocoPuff, who is strictly an inside kitty, has believed in their character assassination of me. CocoPuff doesn't understand that if she ever went outside, these two kitties would turn on her in a heartbeat! Especially, Callie, the calico female. She wants to be the Queen Bee around here but inside, she isn't. And she doesn't like it one bit, either! Sometimes I miss throwing the jingle balls for her, but I still throw them nonetheless. If she doesn't want to play, that's her loss. But she does crouch down right at the doorway looking forlorn wanting to play again with me. So, that's what's been going on with our relationship. That flushing sound and swirling around & around down the tubes of friendships lost. Yep, that's what happened.

I'm looking forward to sailing the deep blue seas again, too! I've got reliable intel that there's a scoundrel parrot smuggler who has come in possession of a treasure map. He's in the Turks/Caicos Islands. If we could find him, we could give him a good "come upence", release the captives, and steal his map! We could leave him penniless, birdless, and preferably, pantless, so he can't go anywhere to smuggle birds anymore. We'll float him away for the authorities to pick up! Rotten smugglers should have the animals they smuggle turn up to judge him for his illegal cruelty. He'd deserve it & we'd have his map! Sound like a plan to you? We'll see? Hugs to all, SamIAm
