Hi MacKenzie
Good luck for the year is exactly why Mom fixes black eye peas for New Year's day. Is your mom from the South? My mom learned it from her mom who grew up in NC.
Today is a good Mom day, because once the grocery shopping was done, I have her till the Packers game comes on at 5PM our time. She may just let me watch it with her, if I can behave.
And tomorrow Mom starts her annual post New Year's batch of Jambalaya. I just love that stuff, and she will put in extra rice this time to make it better for Dad. Fewer beans too, to cut down on the protein. Since that tasty tomato flavored rice is my favorite part, that works for me. We'll be eating Jambalaya for days.
