Hi Zippy!
I'm glad you like the inside of our shanty! It is pretty fancy! I'm also glad you like the heated perches. They were a little tricky to find for us. And we have bunk beds too! A real party palace!
So - it's your turn to cook up our crappies! I think grilled with those lines in it will be really tasty!
And I don't know if I told you but we have a Great Horned Owl. Yesterday the police brought him to us - he was injured. This is today's update:
Well, the latest on the owl! My parronts took him to the wild life vet this morning (that's our bird vet) and she gave him a good exam and declared that he had a broken wing. But before she could set it, she wanted to be sure where it was broken, etc. so my parronts left him there for xrays. Now here, she has to sneak him into the human health clinic in the village and bribe the xray tech to do the xrays! It turned out his wing was broken in 6 places so our vet amputated his wing. She said there was nothing else she could do. He is recuperating fine already and happily eating live mice. She has a lot of live mice since she breeds snakes for sale. So the owl is staying with her at least until Monday when my parronts will go visit him there. She will call the equivalent to US Fish and Wildlife on Monday to see what they want to do about him. He can't go back to the wild and since he's protected, he will most likely go to someone that has a permit to keep owls that are injured, like a sanctuary here or he'll go to the zoo. Mom is hoping for the private sanctuary as he'll be better treated than at the zoo probably. This has all been very interesting and my parronts suddenly know a lot about owls that was unexpected. They really have enjoyed holding him and petting him and feeding him - such an honor with such a magnificent creature!
Have a great weekend! I'm having a real blast ice fishing with you but my tootsies are a little cold!
