*sigh of relief* It's so good to hear from you, to know you're okay and that all's well. Mom and I were talking about you this morning while she tidied up my room - we were wondering at what point we should start to worry since you'd been away for awhile. I had my "Is everything okay?" note all written out in my head but I'm so glad I don't have to send it. It's wonderful to know you've just been busy having some quality mom-time. I hope her vacation was rejuvenating. You sure should be after all the naps you've gotten! Me, I haven't heard peace and quiet for years.
Me and the flock, we did have a nice holiday although I must be honest, Christmas Day is actually one of the most boring for us. Mom's all distracted by family stuff and us birds get told to "hand on, I'll be back in a minute" a lot. And I do mean a LOT. We did have her to ourselves for about an hour in the afternoon when our new toys and treats were handed out and hung up. And of course there were pictures taken. My profile picture is of me checking out one of my little wicker toys. You can bet there's nothing left of that thing now save the plastic parts and even some of those are crunched beyond repair. Those other pictures - oh boy- do I look silly in those. The one of me on the rope perch that's attached to a cage was taken back when mom was about to leave and the cage was set up to keep dad safe from my rocket-launch attacks.
Have you heard that Kirby retired from his coaching position and that Squeaky is now the head coach? Yup, she agreed to take the job when Kirby had to step down. For awhile there he wasn't even going to be able to play ball, as were none of the McFlock - they'd all resigned their team positions - but then mom got to feeling so bad about letting any of us play, she agreed to let everybirdie sign back on. Things with dad's business are changing and mom plans to get way more involved in the coming here so she knew there wouldn't be nearly the time for the BC that she's had during quiet times in the sign shop's office. RaneBeau won't be umpiring in baseball and has retired from his Milonga involvement too. After six years on the BC, he's being forced to let go of some of his favorite activities. You ever see a macaw pout? I have. It's not pretty.
