Hello Scion!
How are you and your family? I am doing well and so is everyone in my house.

We have had some crazy weather here. Highs in the lower 30's one day and then 74 the next and then mid 50's and tons of rain, now back into the low 30's and a chance of sleet today. Mom and I love the snow, but not the ice! We are hoping we don't get any sleet today. At least dad is taking an online class for work, so they are letting him stay home this week. We will just worry about Jodie being at school if it does sleet. There is a really big hill that the bus would have to come down to bring her home and sometimes the schools seem to forget that and wait to long. The only other option takes about an hour and a half instead of 20 minutes (on a good day). Mom said she will be watching the weather closely today and will be going to get Jodie if it starts. Better safe than sorry!

Other than strange weather, everything is good here. Everyone is healthy and that is always good. Jodie has All Region Band rehearsals Friday and Saturday. She got 1st band, 8th chair for her Clarinet! Pretty good since 137 kids from all over the place tried out and only 52 made it. She hadn't even been playing for 2 months! She had been playing the Bass Clarinet for concerts because the Band Director needed someone to play it and she asked Jodie. She said she knew she could pick it up quickly and be ready for the Christmas concert. The Christmas concert was great, but mom said she wasn't sure about this Bass Clarinet. Instead of Jodie being in the front, she was all the way in the back and mom couldn't see her. That Bass Clarinet is a big instrument! Jodie said it's ok, but a little boring. It doesn't present as much of a challenge for her. They are trying to get her to switch to the Bass, but mom said no. The instrument is over $5,000 and there is no way we can buy one and if you play the school owned one (which she is doing now), they want $50 a month! Thank goodness we don't have to pay that now since she is doing it as a favor to the teacher. The teacher said if Jodie wants a band scholarship she is better off playing her normal Clarinet anyway. Mom said she doesn't mind Jodie helping when they need her too, but we just can't do the Bass Clarinet. Besides, to be honest, I really like the sound of her regular Clarinet. The Bass is very low and I'm not sure what I think of it just yet, but I can't dance to it like I can the other!

Jodie got a guitar for Christmas and she has been playing it too! I love it! Mom said she doesn't know where she gets that musical ability, but none of us are complaining! I get to dance a lot when she plays her instruments and it puts that crazy cat, Rocky, to sleep! I think that is the best part! Hahaha

Well, I hope that everyone in your house is doing well and that you have a great day today. Stay warm!

Hugs, Tobey
