Hello Sam
How are things with you there in NC? Has it been a beastly winter by southern standards or a boring one as mine has been? Yes, there was that little pre-Christmas blizzard which provided a bit of amusement but for the most part, it's been a lackluster season. *Kelly smirks, then rolls her eyes.* Like I really care what it does outside this time of year. If it's too cold for a parrot to be out there, I don't pay much mind to anything else about the weather conditions. Then again, perhaps that's not true. I do note when it's extremely windy. One of the windows in my room whistles when we have exceedingly strong southerly winds. Sometimes you can hear that whistle on a perfectly calm day as well, but I believe that would be because I can sound like the wind now. *grin* Mom said of all the sound effects I had to pick up, why did it have to be that one? She's forever trying to tighten up that whistling window to stop the annoying noise. Now she's got me to fill in should the wind not do its thing.

I've actually dropped by to inquire about baseball and whether or not you're putting a second Grey team together. I know at one point a couple of seasons ago you were discussing the pluses of a Timneh team. Any talk of that still?

And how's the pirate recruiting coming along? I absolutely love your post on The Calendar Page. I thought I would surely get to set sail with you this year but then this change in mom's cooperation with us parrots came along and the McFlock is really struggling to feel like they're in the loop anymore (not that we ever were maybe). I'd love to participate if it's not absolutely necessary to be present and contributing every day. I thought I'd offer my services as a seamstress of sails if there is such a role on pirate ship. Surely there'll be holes in the main sail and tears in a jib. I can work quickly and quietly and have much practice perching on a swaying object, and I might add, I can keep my cookies down come high seas or low. Or something like that.

We have much to discuss when you get the chance to drop by. I look forward to your visit should I be so lucky as to win one.

Yours admiringly,
K *v*
