Spot knocks on Ruby's door!
When she comes to the door he presents her with a casserole dish with Chirp's famous mac and cheese with a crunchy topping. This is for you, ma-am! Spot stammers and blushes, then says, You'll never know how much your kind words blessed me the other day! You were right, Miss Puffin's mama was sick and that's why she wasn't there! Thank you again for comforting me when I was so emotional! It meant a lot to me, and is a debt I cannot possibly repay, but if you EVER need anything, please let me know!
Spot takes her wing tip and kisses it gently, smiles and backs away!
Thanks again! he says as he drives away, leaving Miss Ruby speechless and indeed, he never gave her a chance to respond! She smiles and takes the casserole inside and gets a glass of sweet tea to drink with it. |
