Hi Bindi
we have a male keet called Paddycake who has seizures all the time. you always know when one is going to happen because he makes a sound like a whistling firecracker before he falls to the bottom of his cage. mom thinks sometimes the tv flashing causes him to have them. anyway he has been hving them for about 4 years. mom doesnt know how many he may actual have since he probably has a lot when no one is home. it can take anywhere from 5 minutes to half an hour for him to come out of it. if mom is home and sees it happening she just holds him until he starts to struggle to be free and puts him back on his perch. if she puts him back before the seizure is over he will just fall again. he is usually very quiet for a day or 2 after he has one and then he perks up and is back to his old self. mom thinks this is because of poor breeding by the pet stores who breed strictly for color and not health. his mate is 7 years old and never had one. she becomes very agitated when she sees him have a seizure and tries to bite him. when he is feeling good they are very loving with each other. just thought you might be interested in this tidbit. love cori
