(õ> *After the timely interceding of First
Mate SamIAm, Riley reaches the deck of The Pirate Pearl and flutters down the gangplank to the dock where she left her bag of gear for the journey. She had not wanted to appear too presumptuous to either Mr SamIAm or Her Captain by carrying it on board before obtaining permission to board and sail.

But now she can feel the eggscitement building, down to the very barbs of her feathers! She gathers her gear and makes the return trip up the gangplank, refusing offers from other crew members to lend a wing, wanting to pull her own weight.

Before he has had time to retire to his cabin for the night, Riley once again finds First Mate Sam. "Thank you, Mr Sam, for your kind words to Captain Caesaur on my behalf. I promise to make you proud by learin' all I can and bein' the best help I can be!

I'm headed for my bunk and a good night's rest so I'll be ready for anything come tomorrow mornin' and we cast off! Sleep good, Mr Sam. See ya when the sun comes up!"

And Riley gaily greets the crew members as she passes, whether she's ever met them or not. She says "Hello" to Mr Kiddo & Miss SweetPepper, and Mr MIKEY & Miss KACEY; and there's fister Ruby's good featheriend Mr Scion! Riley waves enthusiastically at him on the aft deck from the foredeck. Then she heads below to get settled in and get started on that good night's rest she promised Mr SamIAm she'd get.*
