Hi, Mackenzie,
We heard from a couple of the east coast birdies and they were fine at the time they sent their blog. Many lost power, but that happens in storms and people should've had supplies already in place. Not sure why many are afraid of earthquakes and elect to face the snow and the heat every year, oh, yeah and the hurricanes and tornadoes too. Those happen every year in the east and midwest. We are glad to live here too. If we were flying on a plane sure would not get mad at a cancelled flight as who in their right mind would want to be in those winds and ice?

Let's see, after the hawk would fly back and forth on the leash dad eventually trained it without the leash and the hawk learned quickly. Kept the sessions short, half hour or so, mom can't recall as she never really watched so there would be no distractions. Oh, think he used a whistle as part of the training. Think he must've used specific whistles along with vocal commands. He always kept that bag of beef heart tidbits for rewards. Mom really doesn't miss buying that at the grocery store. She had to buy rabbit meat occasionally. Looks just like chicken, heehee. In the evenings sometimes dad would take the hawk out and walk with it on his (gloved) fist. If mom can ever figure out where a hawk photo is she'd put it in our gallery, though dad would have to scan it into the puter first and that dino of a scanner is iffy at best and then send it to mom's email...

A wine stroll sounds like a fun thing to do. The parronts don't drink wine, but they have on occasion walked the lil towns and just browse the specialty shops. There's a couple of towns that have lil candy stores with all the retro candy one can think of from childhood or from other countries. The Los Gatos store (mom can't recall the name) plays the willy wonka movie all day long (Gene Wilder version) the other one (in Campbell) has lots of wacky flavors of Jones soda.

Have a great day, wing hugs, beak kisses and a vote, Pearl and Silver.
