Hi Chico
Mom doesn't know how to age a turtle, only how to sex it. It's adult, given its size, though. They can cast its shell, like you cast a broken leg. If they caught it soon enough, it will knit like broken bones, if not they will have to find it a sanctuary, or keep it at the center so it's safe from predators.
Well, yesterday it was 60 degrees when mom left the center, then the wind started. By last night it was in the low 30s, and that seems to be where it is today. I think today is going to be rather low keyed, once mom gets back from the pool. She's going to put away the water colors, clean the basement a little, maybe wash the dog blankets down there, then spend the day with us. It sounds like a great day to me!
