Hi Blue,
I do know that Simon is a pain if he is not the first one let out of his cage in the morning. If he is first he steps right up and gets his loving from mom but if some other birdie gets out before him then he is a royal pain in the vent. He won't step up for mom, he lunges at her, and will nip her if she persists. Simon is very jealous birdie but mom has found that that system works best for her. Moving cages around might help too, sometimes a change of scenery can do wonders. I have no fear that your mom will keep going just like my mom does. It has taken around 5 years for her to get me to begin to accept scritches and help with my pin feathers, when I first came here I would not allow touching of my feathers. I used to lung at mom when she tried to pick me up and nip her but now I will step right up but sometimes I still pretend that I am going to nip but I don't.

Every year around November before Thanksgiving the bulk nuts appear on the shelves in the stores. Mom always starts buying them...a little each shopping trip until after Christmas when they go on sale and then mom stocks up. This year they went down to 99 cents a pound, they also had one pound bags of in the shell walnuts for only 99 cents so mom got lots of those as well. She gets tries to get enough to last us the year...she bags the nuts and freezes them...it works out really well.

Glad to hear that your dad is okay and will be home today raiding your treats...take care of him and be nice to him...
Mom and dad are doing alright...taking it day by day...

Wing hugs, Chica

PS: Glad we met...the blind date has turned out well...
