Deciding to start out easy R turns on a treadmill, leaving the incline on FLAT, and begins to plod along. The first thirty steps or so don't feel too bad but after a couple of minutes of walking he realizes he's breathing a little harder. 10 mins into the 20 minute session and he knows he's been spending too much time just sitting around this past winter. Stomp plod stomp plod huff plod puff plod ... 18 minutes Clomp gasp step gasp clomp gasp step gasp 19 minutes Thinking he can survive the last minute and finish it with at least a little style, he leans into the walk, really swinging the tail back and forth in the hopes it'll give him so momentum, he tromps through the final 60 seconds of the routine. GLORY BE! 20 minutes!! R hops of the treadmill and heads for the showers. He's worked up a sweat he didn't even know was possible for a macaw.
