Hi, Mackenzie, We had just the one night of rain, but it all adds up. Might get more today, we'll see. The first couple of loud storms furball wasn't happy, but guess she figured it out and doesn't fuss so much anymore. Hopefully, next time Jenna will calm down sooner after she's made her alerts. Guess the other dogs are okay with the noise? Hope your mom was able to get a good night's sleep. Nature does tend to allow the sick/weak/injured to be food for coyotes and the like. Just that we are a lil too far from the hills for coyotes/mountain lions to be nearby. Think officials still want to be informed of any dead birds to ensure they don't have west nile. Mom found a dead rat in our backyard one year. It was suspiciously right underneath a power line so not sure if it got zapped or not. She double bagged it (using a shovel) and put it in the garbage can. Unfortunately it was spring or summer (warm) and not garbage day so the smell permeated even though the lid was on. Dad's brother was visiting and asked about the smell and mom said it was a dead rat, yikes! Could've used a predatory animal to eat that before mom found it...Hopefully the parronts never see any sick animals. Okay, we kinda figured you gals did not shoulder sit. Big birds just don't look 'right' on a shoulder. We think Remington will love it once he gets more familiar and trusting of the parronts. Kinda assumed you would not be out at the same time as him since he's so much smaller. Cannot take any chances. So long as everybirdie and furball has plenty of one on one time and attention then it's all good. Have a great day, wing hugs, beak kisses and a vote, Pearl and Silver. |
