`Ü´ *Ruby watches as the little 'tiel ...
Spot runs out the door of The Flower Shop, distressed that she was unable to offer more comfort for one of her featheriends. She will do her best to make sure that his sentiments are accurately conveyed in each of the Floral Gifts that he has ordered, particularly the one for his fister, Ms. Chirps.
Sadly, the order will have to be carried over to tomorrow's work schedule as it is very close to closing time today, and Ruby simply MUST get home at a reasonable hour this evening. But she will be thinking of Mr Spot and Ms. Chirps especially throughout the evening this evening. She will add them both to her Prayer List tonight when it is time to go to perch.
But right now, she must make quick work of closing up The Flower Shop. She gathers the crocks of fresh cut flowers and pre-made arrangements on the cart and returns them to the cooler in the back room, after which she puts away everything from the Customer Service Counter. Then she removes the cash drawer from the cash register and goes back to Miss Alex's office to count out the deposit for the day's business and complete the paperwork.
When she has finished, she turns off the lights and flips the sign in the front window to read "Closed for the Day" and then locks the door behind her, jiggling it to be sure the lock is set. Before heading for home, she walks down Main Street in BirdChannelVille to The First Bank and deposits the day's receipts in the night depository.*
