Gizmo, I need your thoughts here
This is what I wrote to Cookie, please read on: AND GLAD TO HEAR YOUR MOMS ADVENTURE FOR THE DAY. Super!!!

Hi Cookie, I am Spring and I have a nice new home with mommy Patti. She's a peach and she talks to me a lot and I really am not lonely. But my brother Sunshine who she lost when he flew away Jan 7th is a mystery. But a lady called her and they found a cockatiel looks just like Sunshine. Mom went to check it out today. Without Sunshine having a distinct mark to know its for sure him, ie a tatoo or something that would really identify him from other yellow head/orange cheeks and white body of feathers and old looking feet/longer nails than usual. How is mommy able to really know if its her Sunshine who was 19yrs old when he flew away? If he was tramatized for 3 months, would lose weight, maybe broken nails or some significant problem. But this bird looked well kept like a young cockatiel but his tail feathers are very yellow and Sunshines were ALL PURE WHITE TO THE TIPS. The bird seems to be responsive to my talking but also very jittery, frightened. He seemed to respond and was trying to speak or he was burping when I was trying to repeat his name and the whistling to him like I used to do. But he didn't really come to my hand. So I am not knowing how to determine IF its mine. It's 10 miles away from where I live where he got out. Could he or would Cockatiels fly that far over 3 months. I guess anything is possible. Also there had only been about 5 or 6 notices of found cockatiels over these 3 months and all those I called were not close to looking like my Sunshine as the finders told me. Either were grey, cinnamon, grey/yellow...So now this one finally been found this weekend. SIGH Feedback on your experiences in birds or your thoughts are welcomed. I already took a year old cockatiel in March 17th from a young boy who got it from a breeder just for me to help my healing over my lost baby. I'm not really wanting another bird OTHER THAN MY SUNSHINE. But I don't know where to go with the thinking about this bird I saw today. Could it be Sunshine, really or is it another cockatiel got out up there in that area?
Await to hear your thoughts. Thank you, Patricia, mom of new Spring and keeping hopes for the right Sunshine.
