Hi Willie
I just love watching and hearing the wild birds! You should see the sparrows that come in and out of the old broken down birdhouse that's hidden in the ovegrown rhododendron bush! The roof blew off it in the storm in February and they have it all thatched with some kind of straw and leaves so you can't see inside,we saw the babies fledge last summer from that old birdhouse! And in late spring you can hear the babies crying and watch the parronts flying off to find food for them, the also bring back more nesting material,as soon as one parront comes back the other one leaves to get more food and or nesting material! Mom tried getting a picture of one of the babies trying to fledge out of the house last summer but the baby kept popping his head back in the birdhouse when Mom got close enough to get the shot! Mom has to buy more wild bird food when she goes out tomorrow! They sure are going through it fast enough! Your Mom is right about the cardinals having such sweet songs, but they are always fighting with each other over the females! Mom and I watched a knockdown tear your beak off fight a few weeks ago and it was all over a female who stood there for a minute or two and then took off while they were fighting with each other!
Wishing you a great day and I'm sending you all my love along with warm birdie hugs and soft beakie kisses and a vote for you too! Love,Peepers
