UPDATE ON SWEETPEPPER & KACEY G-PA
APRIL 17 G-PA UPDATE
MOM TOOK G-PA TO THE DR TODAY. HE IS GOING IN FOR ANOTHER DILATION OF THE ESOPHAGUS NEXT WEEK, EITHER TUES OR WED. HAVE TO WAIT ON THE CALL. DR SAYS THAT IS NORMAL WITH THE HEALING. AS THE AREA OF WHERE HE SEWED THINGS UP TOGTHER HEALS, IT GETS TIGHT AND OF COURSE THERE IS STILL SOME SWELLING. SO G-PA WILL BE HAVING THIS DILATION DONE TILL THINGS STOP BEING SO TIGHT AND HE CAN SWALLOW WITHOUT DIFFICULTY. DR ALSO IS NOT WORRIED ABOUT THE AMOUNT OF WEIGHT HE LOST, HE IS DOWN TO 147. DR SAYS FOR HIS HEIGHT HE IS STILL WITHING NORMAL RANGE AND AS LONG AS HE ISN'T PASSING OUT HE WILL BE OKAY. HE SAYS HE MAY STILL LOOSE MORE WEIGHT AS HE GETS MORE ACTIVE BEFORE HIS BODY IS ABLE TO GET MORE FOOD IN AND THEN BEGIN TO GAIN WEIGHT. THE DR SAYS HE IS ON THE RIGHT TRACK IN THE HEALING PROCESS FOR HIS AGE AND CONDITION. MOM IS GOING TO THE HEALTH FOOD STORE TO BUY A CANISTER OF PROTEIN POWDER FOR G-PA TO USE IN FOODS AND DRINKS. DR RECOMMENDED IT. G-PA IS EATING MORE OF THE MASHED POTATOES, ABOUT A FULL CUP NOW AND HE ATE 2 POACHED EGGS FOR DINNER. MOM IS GETTING REALLY GOOD AT MAKING POACHED EGGS. WE ALL HAD POACHED EGGS FOR DINNER. G-PA SAYS POACHED EGGS ARE A LOT BETTER WHEN ON TOAST, THAT WILL BE A LONG WHILE BEFORE HE IS ABLE TO EAT TOAST. MOM STILL HAS TROUBLE GETTING TOAST DOWN SINCE HER SURGERY.
