Hi Scoober ♥
I'm glad you are enjoying the Derby blogs and my hats. The painting was done by Derek Gores. They call the series, The Art of the Derby.
My mom has a ton of books on the Derby and horse racing. I read most of them when she and dad aren't home.
My allergies are really bad lately and so are mom's. I guess it's that time of year.
We had high winds and snow flurries today. Most of our state has floods to some degree. It's a good thing we live up on a hill.
DAY 19
The Kentucky Oaks is a “PINK OUT“ race day. They encourage all attendees to incorporate pink in their attire for the day to show their support. They also have a moving Cancer Survivors Parade on the track and a special winners circle formed by cancer survivors. This is the only time they allow people on the track. Additionally, Churchill Downs’ facility will be adorned in pink, including pink colored bunting, flower beds, flags, and jockeys’ and pony riders’ apparel. Even bugler, Steve Buttleman will sport a pink uniform as he calls the horses to the post throughout the Oaks race card.
Chyna ♥
