Hi Squeaks
Thanks my dear BFF for the congrats. Yes, it has been a busy month for me. I'm overwhelmed to receive the BOTM and 10K. I've only been on here for 1 1/2 years.
We finally had a beautiful day today. It was sunny and 60 degrees ... felt so good. yesterday it was 351 At least more snow has melted. I hope it all goes away soon.
Are you entering your blue hat? I think it's beautiful.
My parronts went to Traverse City for an appointment. mom talked dad into stopping at the hay store. She needed a clip to finish her derby hat for next month. She came home with the clip and a new derby hat for next year!
How is Lima doing?
DAY 22
Only three fillies ever won the Kentucky Derby.
Regret is the first filly to win the Kentucky Derby in 1915. She raced 11 times, and won 9 of those races and finished second in one. She was never beaten by another female horse. She was full of heart and gave the boys a run for their money.
Genuine Risk was the second filly to win the Kentucky Derby in 1980. Genuine Risk also raced in the Preakness Stakes and the Belmont Stakes, placing 2nd in both of them. She was mated to Secretariat. Unfortunately, the colt was stillborn.
Winning Colors was the third filly to win the Kentucky Derby in 1988. As was her habit, Winning Colors broke fast and raced to the lead. In the Preakness Stakes, she finished third and in Belmont Stakes, she finished out of the money.
Hugs
Chyna
