|Hi Scoober ♥
Oh I know you have my photo. But, you will have to share it for the contest (then you can keep it) ...hehehe. Oh yes, I think you vote was perfect for us, and now you see it too.
My mom wasn't around to see Regret either. Did you know that Rosie rode in last years Derby? She should be riding in this years too ... if all goes well. Hope she does good.
After the wonderful warm (60) day of sunshine on Monday, we were spoiled. Today was rain and cold (50) and then tonight, more snow. All the bare spots were covered in white again ..sigh......
I'm pretty tired after all that's been happening this month. Mom says we can rest after the Milonga. Mom was on the phone with the geek squad tonight. This silly "8" doesn't do very much. She will have to buy an office program. This isn't a good time as she makes programs for everyone at her party. Remember when your puter would print out an envelope? Ah, the good old days!
The grueling schedule of the three races in 5 weeks at longer distances than most have run previously, is the most difficult task a horse will face in his racing career. There have been 11 Triple Crown winners. Thirty horses have won the first two legs of the triple Crown, but 19 of them failed to win Belmont. Sir Barton was the first winner in 1919. The other winners are Gallant Fox (1930), Omaha (1935), War Admiral (1937). Whirlaway (1941), Count Fleet (1943), Assault (1946), Citation (1948), Secretariat (1973), Seattle Slew (1977), and Affirmed (1978). Sadly, the last triple crown winner, Seattle Slew passed away on May 7, 2002.
