Tia of the MLBs arrives
for batting practice. The batting cages are currently filled with her teammates, smacking the stuffing out of those balls! Tia decides to work out her jitters by waddling around the bases a few times, then grabbing a bucket of baseballs & heads to the area that's set up for pitchers to throw a few. How awesome, Tia exclaims! The backdrop has sensors that lets the birdie know if the ball thrown was a strike or a ball, & the speed of the pitch! OK, Coach Reba is ready for her in one of the batting cages. Tia is so nervous, she has never held a bat before! Coach Reba shows her how to properly hold a bat, proper stance & swing. Reba starts up the pitching machine. Tia begins swinging wildly, swinging too late, too early, & a few times it looks like she's swatting flies! But Tia is not one to give up! Coach Reba reloads the machine, Tia stands there, bat poised, a look of determination in her eye! Suddenly, something clicks in her brain! Thwunk...the ball leaves the machine. Tia's bat answers back with a CRACK...pop up fly to short field. "Good job Tia!" Coach Reba hollers. "This time swing evenly, don't swing up on the ball, Tia nods. THWUNK says the machine, CRACK Tia's bat answers back, the ball smashes into the cage. "Great job Tia!" Coach Reba exclaims. " I'm pretty sure that one would be over the fence, center field! I think u have the hang of it now, I'm going to check in on ur teammates!"
