Hello Maxie
I'm very tardy in getting here to thank you for your visit back on Mozart's memorial day. No sooner did I think I was going to be the lucky one to commandeer the keyboard for a day or two but then a flockmate wins the BOTD Award. And then the next day another one does the same and then next thing I know, my thank you notes are gathering dust. Your visit in memory of Mo is appreciated none the less though, even all this time later. And the hug you shared, well, thanks for that too. You're a brave lass, risky the wrath of Jen. I'm really glad you did. And survived to talk about it. And the one for my mom, she thanks you for that too.

I should tell you that hugs are actually a thing I crave now. Yup. Used to be I didn't want anything to do with scritches or pats or neck rubs or none of that touchy-feely stuff. My first mom told my now-mom that I loved head scritches but because I'd always duck and run if any effort was made to touch my head, mom figured the lady was exaggerated a bit in her description so as to get me a new home quicker. I suppose I did like those things when I was a baby but after six months of solitary confinement and no handling, I was out of the mood for any of that lovey-dovey stuff. It took several years here before I finally allowed a little contact. I'm not a biter, just an evader! Now though I'm a beggar, flying in to wherever mom is and sliding my head under her hand so she'll give me a little lovin'. I even love to be held up close and wrapped in arms, as long as the yellow feathers are getting some attention. Big change, huh? It amazes my mom, I can tell you that. Don't know that Mo would've ever reached this point, but mom hadn't given up hope. Too bad the guy didn't live to find out how wonderful all that attention can actually feel.

((Big Hug)) to you Maxie.
