Sam Has Miss Riza Perform Her Cartwheels For Him..
....then Sam does a few too! He explains that she will need to get a bit of speed, at first, that will give her the extra Oomph she will need to propel her into the aerial without dropping her wings down for support. Sam demonstrates a running aerial explaining as he goes, that it is concentration on using the other muscles to help with the propulsion of his body. Miss Riza wants to give it a try. She comes running as Sam steps forward to "spot" her with her maneuver. Miss Riza tries hard not to put her wings down but she stops herself half way & Sam catches her by her waist & helps her to flip on over into a clumsy aerial. Not bad for a first attempt, Miss Riza! Don't worry about avoiding me. I know how to dodge but will be there to help you not hurt yourself. When you trust me, you'll be trusting yourself to do this correctly! Watch me, now, perform a front aerial. Sam flips frontwards with his wings held straight out but never touching the ground. Each foot lands one after the other. You can do that too! It is just a slight difference and I know you'll be able to do it in no time. Let's work on the side aerial first. It's the closest to a cartwheel. You try again. Miss Riza prepares with a run towards Sam & the mat and launches upwards with wings held out and comes down one foot at a time. Sam's one wing has been on her back the just at the moment she goes into her spin then released as she lands. PERFECT!!! Miss Riza a few more times with wings out for balance, then you'll be ready to hold them down yourself! Miss Riza smiles. She's excited about performing for her squad and then she can teach them, too! SamIAm, coaching gymnastics with Miss Riza of the CrackerJack Conures (Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders birdyfied)
