Hi New Friend Rusty!
I was very excited to meet another African Grey! Now I have a new friend.

Mom got so scared and sad reading your story. Mom would have been a total wreck. Her biggest fear is losing us (well, one of her fears).

I am so, so, so glad you were able to be saved. That must have been scary for everyone, but especially your mom. I'm so glad you were smart enough to go back to your mom eventually. I hope I don't have to ever tell a scary story like that. So glad you are all okay.

Our wings are clipped really short but we don't go outside because mom's afraid of the dogs, cats, hawks, and other animals getting to us (since we live in an apartment complex).

I have lots of funny stories because I really am a "piece of work" as mom calls me. I am so smart and do so many funny things -- and, of course, some things I shouldn't do!

Let's see, this AM mom accidentally tried to videotape me waking up from my morning cuddles of watching TV. I go under the covers on "my" side of the bed. Unfortunately, mom had the camera on "not recording" instead of "recording". So she missed it. But I stayed under the covers until noon! Mom kept checking on me, but I kept pulling the covers down over my head. In other others words, "Mom, get away. I want to sleep more!" What a life! So then, mom got out her mini digital recorder she just got from work. I didn't know what it was and didn't think it was anything special. I clam up when being recorded.

Well, mom hit record on that and got me on tape saying all my cool words! When she played it back, I tried to attack it. Mom hid it and I didn't see where so I went all over the bedroom looking for it. I even opened the drawer of the nightstand and threw everything out looking for it! I was not happy to have been recorded!

One day, mom got a box that looked like the ones our food comes in (and it was). Mom was busy with work. I kept telling her to "Look, Look!" and she did but wouldn't open it because she was working. Well, first I climbed on top and tried to open it that way -- to much tape. So then I climbed down and started chewing in one corner and started ripping the box open. Finally, mom got the idea and took a break to open the box.

Bumbles, when he was visiting once last year, showed me that underneath the kitchen and bath cabinets there are rubber molding strips. Hmmm. We were sleeping on our perches on our playstand. Mom had headphones on transcribing for work. Well, we snuck off our stands and pulled off bits and pieces of the molding under the kitchen cabinets! What a mess! Mom almost lost her security deposit because of that. Luckily, she got the maintenance guys to give her a few extra strips and she cut and applied it herself.

Two weeks ago, mom was working 12 hours plus each day at her part-time job! Well, even though it's at home, we are not happy when she does this. She ran to refill her water glass (and can see us the whole time), but I quickly ran to the laptop and pulled off abo
